The New Yugoslav Studies Association is an ASEEES-affiliated interdisciplinary organization dedicated to the study of the Yugoslav political project, culture, and society from a transnational perspective. The association exists to facilitate critical scholarly inquiry, promote exchange of knowledge about Yugoslavia, and maintain its legacies and ongoing relevance.
Red Threads is an online publication for internationalist politics speaking from the former Second World to the planet, rooted in lived realities, shared politics, and struggles across our region but addressing global questions. A successor to LeftEast, Red Threads are a multi-tendency left collective: more than a magazine, less than a party.
Working Group for Solidarity in REEES
The Working Group for Solidarity was formed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing crises in higher education, and REEES specifically. It organizes mutual aid, works with and through ASEEES and AATSEEL to organize discussions of equity in academic labor, to conduct surveys, and create a support network, advocate for transparency in individual departments and professional associations regarding funding and austerity, coordinate with existing departments and regional studies centers to offer the most effective support to colleagues in need, and support colleagues advocating for better conditions in their universities.
