Remembering Revisionism
In this panel historians Sheila Fitzpatrick (Australian Catholic University), Anna Krylova (Duke), Lewis Siegelbaum (Michigan State University), and Ronald Suny (U Michigan) gather to discuss the history and legacy of the "revisionist turn" in the historiography of the Soviet Union and state socialism. This event was hosted by Renny Hahamovitch (U Michigan). This event is part of a series of zoom events held by the Black Sheep Society (BSS) that hopes to engage with and learn from veteran scholars. The previous event in the series "Learning from the Wise" was held last April with Lewis Siegelbaum, Maria Todorova, Elena Gapova, and David Ost, and was hosted by Julia Alekseyeva. The BSS is a recently founded society of left-leaning scholars that has been meeting for the past two years online and in conjunction with ASEEES.
